Total Solar Eclipse — August 12, 2026

Much will be happening during the month of August. To begin with, the Lion’s Gate Portal has been open from July 28 through August 12, reaching its peak on August 8. This goes all the way back to ancient Egypt and is aligned with the spiritual star Sirius. It was symbolic of new beginnings, fertility, and growth because, at this time, the Nile River would rise and the planting season would begin, preparing the way for a healthy harvest.

The Lion’s Gate sets off a high frequency for the advancement of humanity. They say this will be the strongest one so far, and next year will be even stronger. This can be a very good time to meditate and focus on bringing positive things into your life, such as good health, financial prosperity, and whatever else you truly want to create.

But even more will be happening during this New Moon on August 12 because we will also be experiencing a Total Solar Eclipse. The effects of this eclipse may be felt for at least 18 months, and to begin with, it can bring us into a higher level of consciousness. What makes this even stronger is that, beginning July 26, the North Node will be in Aquarius and the South Node will be in Leo. This is significant in more than one way. For one thing, without the nodes, the Solar Eclipse wouldn’t be happening. And if you have your Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Leo or Aquarius, or both, depending on which houses they fall into, this could affect you very personally for the next 18 or 19 months.

This nodal shift may also humble anyone with an oversized ego. And if someone like that is around you, the universe may simply remove them for you.

This shift is all about truth and authenticity.

It can also affect people who are in the public eye. And as we become more intuitive, we’ll begin feeling more clearly who is real around us and who is not.

This nodal shift will also wake us up to issues involving human rights and equality.

It is still connected with the Uranus-Pluto trine, which also has to do with human and civil rights across the board. This energy will remain with us through 2028, although in many ways it began back around 1966, when people really started waking up.

So we may see more social unrest over the coming months.

This will be a new time for what is right for the good of the people. It will also mark the beginning of a new social and economic structure. It won’t happen overnight. But it will happen. That doesn’t mean we won’t break a few eggs along the way, but the changes will come.

So hold the light.

Hold the vision.

And above all, keep love in your heart.

Hold that frequency.

This transformation will begin within us before becoming more external, helping us move toward a more loving and empathetic planet. We have Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Mercury will be moving into Leo. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are also bringing in a great deal of Air energy. So right now, there is lots of Fire and lots of Air.

This energy will remain with us for quite some time and can also affect weather patterns around the Earth, including fires, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, tornadoes, and extreme heat in different parts of the world.

Believe it or not, when we meditate together and use our collective consciousness, I believe we can help calm some of this energy and hold a more peaceful frequency for both people and animals.

Then we have Mars out of bounds with Cancer, which may play into El Niño patterns involving air pressure and water. The Atlantic may feel even warmer, along with much more heat in many places.

Remember, this is a South Node eclipse, which has to do with our identities and old ways of life that no longer work for us.

So we’ll be working with those themes for the next 18 months.

This Solar Eclipse may also strongly affect certain countries, including Spain, Russia, and the United Kingdom, where significant changes may begin unfolding.

At this point, the True Node will be at the anaretic degree of 29°, which is the final and most intensified degree of a sign—in this case, Leo.

And when Mercury and Jupiter are also in the mix, depending on which house all of this falls into in your own chart, it may bring greater prominence and new opportunities into your life. Eclipses are usually very destined and fated periods in our lives. So if this eclipse falls on your Ascendant or Midheaven, or strongly activates an important house in your chart, it may become a very meaningful period for you.

Something else happening now, for all of us, is the opportunity to create a true heart connection.

Meaning, for a change, we begin living more through the heart instead of only through the mind.

Although we are living in a highly technological time with social media, AI, and constant communication, our focus may begin moving more toward the heart.

This is about confidence.

Positivity.

Joy.

And thinking bigger about the future.

Leo is all about heart energy.

We are also experiencing a Cardinal Grand Cross, which this time around can bring a reality check about where we stand in our lives and whether we are moving in the right direction toward our long-term goals.

It can also support our spiritual practices, including meditation, and help us see the world differently while asking ourselves how we can contribute to it in our own way.

That’s where Cancer comes into the picture.

So for now, I think I’ve said enough about this New Moon, this Solar Eclipse, and all the short-term and long-term changes they may bring.
